Q. How long does food need to cook?
A. When steaming foods with high water content, such as runner beans, zucchini, apples and pears, cook for approximately 10 minutes with 2 cups of water. When steaming foods with low water content, such as potatoes, carrots, peas, red meat and poultry, cook for approximately 15 minutes with 3 cups of water. The Beaba Babycook provides for super fast cooking in 15 minutes or less. For reheating purposes, cook with approximately one cup of water.
Q. How can I be assured that the lids and bowls are locked into place?
A. When attaching the cooking bowl lid and water reservoir lid, be sure to lock the lids in by turning them counter clockwise until you hear a slight "click."

Q. What is the size of the bowl?
A. The bowl size for the Babycook is 2 ½ cups or 600ml. This will fill approximately half of one Multi-portions.
Q. What is the bowl made of?
A. The bowl is made from unbreakable Polysulfone (PSU), which is BPA free and known for toughness and stability at high temperatures.
Q. Does the Babycook seal have to be regularly replaced?
Babycook Cleaning Questions:
A. When the seal is properly cleaned (not suitable for the dishwasher) and properly attached, there is no need to change it. However it may suffer some wear and tear, so check that it is still sealing properly. An extra seal is provided with the Babycook.
Q. How do I clean my Babycook?
A. Always unplug the appliance before you start cleaning it. Immediately rinse the accessories that have come into contact with the food under running water. Wash with warm soapy water. After cleaning the blade, make sure that the gasket and seal are reattached properly. Never emerge the appliance in water. The bowl, lid and spatula are top-rack dishwasher safe.
Q. How do I de-scale my Babycook?
A. Descale the heating reservoir regularly using white vinegar only. Ensure the device is cold and not connected to the electrical outlet; pour a mixture of 3.4 ounces (100 ml) of water and 3.4 ounces (100 ml) of white vinegar into the heating reservoir. Leave for the night and then empty. Repeat the operations if necessary until all lime deposits have been removed. Connect the device to the electrical outlet and then complete two heating cycles using water only in the heating reservoir (3 measures of water) in order to rinse it well. Then clean the bowl and accessories with warm, soapy water. Never use a chemical descaler or a coffee machine descaler in the heating reservoir.
Q. There is fine brown silt at the bottom of my heating reservoir. What is it?

A. If you notice a brown deposit (lime scale) in your heating reservoir, you'll need to de-scale your appliance. Please note, this is not toxic to your infant.
Q. Where does the water go for steaming?
A. The water should be poured into the heating reservoir. This is located in the main body of the Babycook. The lid is directly above the steam/blend knob.
Q. How do I reheat food?
A. Food that needs to be reheated should be placed inside a heat resistant bowl and placed in the cooking basket. Pour 1 measure of water into the heating reservoir then proceed as for the cooking cycle. When the indicator light goes out, let the contents cool before removing.
Q. How do I blend food?
A. Place the mixing lid on the cooking bowl and ensure that it is lying flat inside so that it does not slip down when mixing. Lock the lid tightly onto the bowl, then lock the whole unit onto the pedestal. Turn the knob to the right towards the blend symbol, until you get the desired consistency.
Q. How do I defrost food?
A. Follow the same method for reheating, only pour in 2 measures of water instead of 1, and proceed with cooking and mixing.
