Mark of Fitness, founded in January 1993, is the wholly owned subsidiary of NISSEI charged to make sales to the Americas. Mark of Fitness was founded to provide NISSEI with their own distribution channel in addition to the OEM channels already in existence
NISSEI is a Japanese prime manufacturer of blood pressure monitors. Their full name (Nihon Seimitsu Sokki Co.) translates to "Japan Precision Instrument Co." NISSEI is a diversified manufacturer of precision products including: video cameras, specialty video monitors, heart rate monitors, medical instruments, meters for instrument use, communications products, and components used in many electronic products from well known manufacturers. NISSEI, founded in 1950, began production of blood pressure monitors in July 1965 and has produced electronic blood pressure monitors since September 1975. In addition to being the one of the world's largest producers of electronic blood pressure monitors, NISSEI is known for their production quality. To help ensure that quality level, their factories are certified to the ISO 9001 standard.
