Using Nap Nanny as Your Infant Grows

Safety is of the utmost importance. Please do not leave baby unattended and be sure to use the safety harness.
The Nap Nanny Story
“Why don’t you stop talking about it and just make it?”
Those were the words of Leslie’s husband, Jamie. Words that led to the creation of the Nap Nanny.
Leslie and Jamie’s newborn daughter Kendall didn’t like sleeping flat even a little bit when she was born. The only way for everybody to get any sleep was to put Kendall in the car seat or swing. One isn’t ideal for the crib, the other doesn’t fit in the crib.
Leslie kept asking the rhetorical question, why hasn't anyone made something shaped like a car seat but for home use? There were plenty of wedges on the market, but inevitably the baby rolled down to the flat part of the mattress, or it just plain didn’t work. Something shaped like a car seat would hold the baby in place.
Jamie’s words set the wheels in motion.
The process started slowly and gained significant speed as 2008 got underway.
Once they found the right foam manufacturer, the design was finalized. The original, oversized, nine pound chunk of foam was ultimately reduced to a more compact, two and a half pound functional product.
After registering for the ABC Kids Expo Trade Show - set for September 2008 - it seemed like the perfect time to launch the Nap Nanny. Suddenly a lot needed to be done.
The summer of 2008 was a whirlwind. The list of tasks seemed endless; from turning out prototypes, finding someone to make the cover and the right fabric to make it with, to building the website, designing a logo, getting insurance, making displays and putting together a press kit.
Since the process began, the Kemm family has grown to a family of four. Husband Jamie, daughter Kendall and son Chase have been incredibly supportive and patient through the whole process. They're all in this together.
In addition to Leslie's quest to help families sleep, she has a full time job that she loves, too. Leslie is in her 12th year with Comcast SportsNet in Philadelphia where she's a Sports Anchor and Reporter. Her passion for sports is as strong now as it was when she went into the business in 1994. The only difference is she has less time to enjoy sports when she's not working.
Despite her golf game suffering, the journey to get here has been exciting, challenging and rewarding all mixed into one. Turning a dream into a reality hasn’t been an easy process, but nothing good is ever easy, right? Nap Nanny believes in what they’ve created and we know you will too.
What are the weight and size restrictions for Nap Nanny®?
The Nap Nanny® is ideal for helping babies sleep, but we also want them to be safe. For this reason, we recommend the Nap Nanny® be used for overnight sleep, feeding and play time for infants that are 8 pounds (3.6 kilograms) or above, as long as they fit comfortably and have adequate head and torso control.
The Nap Nanny® has no top end weight limit. However, once your infant can sit up or becomes too active you should no longer use the Nap Nanny® for sleep. Sitting up usually occurs somewhere between five and eight months of age, however all babies develop differently.
Can I use the Nap Nanny® after my baby can sit up?
Yes. After this developmental milestone is achieved, the Nap Nanny® has many uses beyond sleeping. It can be used while supervised as an alternative to the bouncy seat, as a place to feed your child, have your child relax, read books, or watch television. It is a recliner that grows with your infant and will be just the right size for your toddler!
We recommend the Nap Nanny®always be used on the floor away from vertical surfaces like walls and dressers. Do not use the Nap Nanny® on any counter tops, tables, or other elevated surfaces. Do not use on a soft surface like a bed or sofa cushion, and do not use the Nap Nanny® in a crib, play yard, or other similar enclosure.
Back to FAQ >
Can the Nap Nanny® be placed inside a crib for night time sleeping?
For safety reasons, this product should never be used inside the crib, bassinette, or play yard. The Nap Nanny® should only be used on the floor. The American Academy of Pediatrics, as well as the Consumer Product Safety Commission, recommends nothing be placed in the crib other than the baby. While we certainly want to help all of our clients (and their babies) get the sleep they need, we want to keep your baby safe as well.
For further information on safe sleep, we encourage you to review the Consumer Product Safety Comissions’s safe sleep guidelines: http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml08/08203.html.
Why can't I place my Nap Nanny® in the crib, play yard, or basinette?
Infants can move to the side of the Nap Nanny® and become entrapped between the Nap Nanny® and the crib, which may lead to suffocation. This could happen even if the infant is secured to the harness. The Nap Nanny® should never be used near an adjacent wall or dresser; in a crib, bassinette, or play yard; or on a bed or couch where an infant can become entrapped. Back to FAQ >
Where can I use the Nap Nanny®?
The Nap Nanny® should be used only on the floor, away from other objects. Back to FAQ >
How do I know that I'm using the Nap Nanny® properly?
The Nap Nanny® should only be used on the floor. The Nap Nanny® should never be used in a crib, play yard, or basinette. The Nap Nanny® should also never be used on an elevated service, nor soft surfaces like a pillow, bed, or cusion.
Consumers should always secure the harness snugly around their infant and check to see that the Velcro straps are attached to the D-rings located inside the Nap Nanny® cover. Back to FAQ >
The harness is connected, is my infant secure?
Not necessarily. You must make sure you connect the Velcro straps to the plastic D-rings located on the foam structure? This must be done EVERY time you take off and replace the Nap Nanny® cover. Back to FAQ >
Is it possible to get a Nap Nanny® right away?
Please refer to our order page for our most current estimated leadtime to fulfill our Nap Nanny® orders. We apologize for any delays and are working with our manufacturer to ensure that we are able to ship as soon as possible. Back to FAQ >

For safety and health reasons, we are unable to sell any irregular products. Back to FAQ >
Is there a quantity discount available?
Yes. We provide a 10% discount when ordering two or more units at one time. Back to FAQ >
Do you sell the covers separately?
Yes! The Nap Nanny® comes with a cover of your choice, however we also sell our minky dot and fashion covers separately as well. Back to FAQ >

My son loves to sleep in his nap nanny at night and sits in it during the day to watch baby Einstein videos!
my favorite use is to have my daughter up front with us while she eats for 2 hours on her feeding pump (she has to be elevated - and the nap nanny has enabled us to be move her around the house more during feeding times)

I loved it for my little guy when he had horrible reflux, now I love it as he relaxes in it to drink his own bottle! We've also incorporated it into our weekly physical therapy sessions with him to learn to stand up on his own!
The nap nanny is the best place for my boy to sleep when he is not at home.

My son slept in his for the first 6 weeks. Now that he is in his crib we use it on the floor in the bathroom while we shower and get dressed. This is by far the BEST purchase we made for our son and ourselves. Would greatly appreciate an addt'l cover. Thanks for making such a great product!
My favorite use of the nap nanny was for my son to sleep in it at night! He spit up so much and had bad reflux. I'm having another son in July and can't wait to use it again!
My favorite use is my daughter hanging out in her nap nanny while I shower! As all moms know with a toddler and a newborn it can be hard to get in a good relaxing shower! Haha! My daughter is 4 weeks old today and has slept in it since we brought her home. It is her favorite place to be and we would love a new cover!
My favorite is that it helps with my daughters reflux/spitting up, she seems so comfy eating and sleeping in this and she naps longer in this then when i lay her flat back

We LOVE our nap nanny.. When I bought it(right after it was in People magazine with Sandra Bullock's Son Louis lying on it) My family thought i was nuts! But it has proved it's value over and over.. My son now almost 11 months old has all his bottles in it and loves to lounge in it and watch his favorite tv show Handy Manny!
I like that my son sleeps 6 hours at night in his :)
My daughter had sleep apnea when she was born as well as severe reflux and after buying the nap nanny we were able to cut down on her episodes. The incline helped so much! Also, I was able to take the Nap Nanny anywhere with me which was great for those homes who did not have a place for my child to nap. My aunt is now using it for the same reason that I did. I recommend it to all my friends and family. I just can't say enough good things about it.
It's soft yet firm and we love the stability. It's the perfect seat!
Susan Stapp Ferguson
It is wonderful when my daughter has a cold or allergy symptoms. It enables her to sleep instead of coughing all night!

Erica S Enders
It's portable and he loves it. That's the most important thing!

We love it because it is potable and so comfy! We use it for her to watch movies in. But the best use so far was when she had RSV at 5 1/2 months... she was having lots of trouble breathing and couldn't sleep at night. So she slept in it every night for a couple of weeks. So we ALL rested better!!
My baby loves the comfyness of the nap nanny. It
We just got a used one from a friend and are SO excited to use it! She had a girl and i have a boy so now I need a new giraffe cover so that it isn't pink! :p lol....no in all seriousness, from what I have read and saw of the product, I am really excited to use it! I own several cloth diaper boutiques and an online store so I am a harsh critic!.... I hope I love it cause I think it will be a great product to offer in all my stores!
Lori 'Snell' Dreher
What I love best about my nap nanny is that all three of my children love it! They are 4 years, 20 months, and 6 weeks! I know we are getting our money's worth out of it!

My daughter has HORRENDOUS reflux and has to sleep on an angle as to not aggravate it. She LOVES her nap Nanny. I bought the Nap Nanny for her older sister (who also had reflux) and it's been the best hand-me-down so far. I love that I can move it from room to room, and take it when we go on vacation. No slings, wedges or falling into a heap at the bottom of the crib mattress : ) Thanks for this God send!
Kendra Lindow Garnto
LOVE the versatility - its so nice to only have ONE item in place of the multiple items my older children needed - no more pumpkin seat, bouncer seat, or bassinet needed!

my favorite aspect of the nap nanny was how well it helped my son nap. i would call the nap nanny the nap GENIUS bc it allowed my son to go from napping 20-30 mins at a time (and waking up cry, fussing) to napping 2-3 hours at a time, and waking up rested, content. a mommy's best friend!! my only regret is not getting it sooner.
The Nap Nanny® is a portable recliner designed by a mother to increase comfort and improve infant sleep for babies with colic, reflux, gas, colds, earaches, flu & special needs. Parents often turn to a wedge to elevate their baby in an effort to get them to sleep but babies often roll off the wedge. Now there's a better choice.
The Nap Nanny is also great for feeding twins, watching television, reading books or for babies who do not like to sleep on their back. With no top end weight limit, the Nap Nanny transitions into the perfect toddler chair. NOT FOR USE IN A CRIB!
WE LUV IT!!
“My 9-week old son slept 7 hours last night. That’s

I am Mam-e to Serephina - the “reason” Coping
with Laryngomalacia came to be. I just wanted
to drop you all a note and say how wonderful I
think you are. I know my daughter Stephanie
has been overwhelmed with your generosity. You
must all sleep as well at night as the LM babies
you have donated Napnannys to- knowing that
they - and their weary parents, are able to get a
good nights sleep because of your kindness.
Thank you very much,

“Thank you!!!! Our 1 week old daughter would have
nothing to do with our bassinet, so I’ve been holding
her and sleeping with her. I knew I could not do this
for the next 3-4 months until she is ready for her crib.
A few friends referred me to the Nap Nanny. I went
out and picked up a Chill. And well, we all have been
able to Chill!!! Life & sleep saver. A registry MUST!!!!!
We bought this when we were pregnant with our third child. I wish we would have had it for our first child (she would only sleep in her swing or car seat). It is fantastic and my son loves it. Thank You!!!
absoultly love it
